Kitaro - Painting with Music

In a cave on Mt. Fuji, a man sits deep in meditation. Suddenly, a wild and hungry beast approaches him. Anyone else would have run away but not him. Instead, he begins to play on his instrument and in minutes, the wild and savage creature becomes as timid as a mouse. This is the power of music - the power that Kitaro understands.

Kitaro has been said to make 'picture music', and indeed many who have heard it agree. It's as if he has put into music the things that embodies the human spirit. Others feel that they have felt the presence of God in his melodies.

Kitaro's music imbues one with a sense of wonderment, as if all at once, one is a part of and apart from the surroundings. Above all, his music is timeless and breaches all borders and barriers.
