Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort had the honour of hosting  the 2007 Life Style Golf Elite Invitation & Independence Cup. One of golf's most celebrated events, the 11th annual elite golf invitation was held from May 7 - 9 and succeeded in attracting many elite amateur golfers. With cooperation from Visit Malaysia Year 2007, the event brought together many top celebrity golfers from China and Malaysia and marked a significant Cultural and physical interaction between the two countries.

Representatives from Resorts World Bhd who participated in the event included Mr. Lim Eng Ming, Senior Vice President of Casino Operations & Security and Mr. Ng Kheng Leong, Vice President of Promotion and Entertainment. Celebrities who participated in this event include award winning artiste and Malaysian expatriate Eric Moo, well-known Chinese model Xie DongNa, and artists Zhu ShiMao, Wang ZhiWen and Huang GeXuan.

A total of 19 prizes were given away to the participants. The organiser also gave away the special titles of Visit Malaysia Year Best Smile and Visit Malaysia Year Best Gentleman in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007.
