The Talented Jacky Cheung

In Cantopop, they are considered to be the established masters of the genre. Their names are Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau, Leon Lai, and Jacky Cheung - otherwise known as the Four Heavenly Kings. Amongst this luminous set, one man stands out from the rest.  He is none other than Jacky Cheung - Cantopop’s God of Song.

In more than 20 years in the industry, Jacky Cheung has received countless praise and accolades. He’s a multi-time winner of the Best Selling Cantonese Album Award at the Hong Kong IFPI Awards, and was twice a recipient of the Chinese Artiste of the World title at the World Music Awards in 1995 and 1997, which cemented his place as the best-selling Chinese pop music artiste in the world. He also received the Golden Needle Award from RTHK (Radio Television Hong Kong) in 2000, as a recognition of a lifetime of achievement in the music industry.

But more than just possessing a wonderful voice, Jacky Cheung has also found critical success in the film industry. Apart from his acting roles, he has won accolades for his film soundtrack work, most notably for the song “Perhaps Love”.
